I see you mama of #georgefloyd in heaven, and I hear you crying. No mama in this world should have to fear for their innocent babies, young or grown. Enough is Enough. Please let this be the last generation to have such worries. More than 20 years ago when I was trampled by a horse at a Rodney king protest in Boston I was a naive teenager who felt that through those protests finally would be the end of racial profiling but here we are today and my teen daughter is protesting again, for the very same culturally ingrained deep rooted racism and misuse of police power as if we have learned nothing in that time...it breaks my heart. Stand up for kindness, for peace, and stand in solidarity with those who do what’s right with their power, who take time to shelter the small and weak and care for the defenseless as mothers do. To all those who live in fear of authority because of the color of your skin I wish I could hold you in a dear embrace and tell you it will be ok, but that will only be true when we see real justice and when those in power use it only to shelter and protect ALL innocent lives.
